Gilly Bachelor Travel Expert, was named “Smarter, Better, Fairer Travel Agent of the Year” at the Travel Industry Awards 2023 by TTG, hosted by industry bible the Travel Trade Gazette.
This award reflects the businesses commitment to sustainability and accessibility in travel.
Gilly Bachelor was recognised for her commitment to operating a sustainable business – which includes running an off-grid (solar powered) office, offering electric vehicle airport transfers and working with clients to make their holidays as sustainable as possible.
The business was also recognised for the important role it plays in its local community, supporting young people with work experience, hosting regular travel surgeries for anyone that has a travel related question or concern, and supporting Brewood’s Community Hub with the sponsorship of the Beer Festival.
However, it is the work Gilly and Stephanie Minton undertake around accessible travel that really stands out. This goes well beyond supporting clients with physical and mental challenges, but recognises the work they have undertaken to overcome ‘digital exclusion’ in travel, with their high levels of personal service overcoming a lot of these barriers for clients, making taking a holiday possible.

Wow, last night was an amazing evening and I am so delighted to have been awarded “Smarter, Better, Fairer Travel Agent of the Year” 2023. Whilst I was the one to accept the award on stage, it really was a team effort, so I was delighted to have Brian Bachelor, Phil Bachelor and Stephanie Minton by my side, as this is an award for all of us!
