Flights only — when it makes sense to book with us!
If you ask us what we prefer to book, the honest answer is: a package.
A package holiday usually brings the strongest protection and the smoothest experience. Flights, accommodation, transfers, and support sit under one umbrella. If something changes, you’ve got clearer rights and a single point of contact. It’s the simplest way to travel well.
But we also live in the real world. Sometimes you don’t need a hotel. Sometimes you’re staying with family. Sometimes you’re building a trip yourself and you want help with the hardest bit: getting the flights right. That’s where flight-only bookings come in.
When clients come to us for flight-only
1) Visiting family and friends in Australia or New Zealand
This is one of the most common reasons. You’ve got somewhere to stay. You don’t need a resort. You do want:
- sensible flight times;
- realistic connection times;
- advice on stopovers;
- help choosing airports and airlines;
- confidence you’re booking the right thing;
- clarification of travel documentation required.
2) When you’re “knitting together” a complex trip
Some clients love to build their own itinerary. They might book their own accommodation, campervan, or tours. They simply want the flights done properly, with:
- multi-city routes (into one city, home from another);
- stopovers (to break up the journey);
- domestic add-ons;
- different airlines across the route.
This is where we can help. We sanity-check the whole plan and build flights that match how you actually travel, not what a search engine assumes you want.
The big difference: one ticket vs separate tickets
Online booking tools often throw up itineraries that look great on price, then quietly split the trip into separate tickets.
Sometimes that’s fine. Sometimes it’s risky.
If flights are on separate tickets and the first one runs late, the second airline may treat you as a no-show. That can mean buying a new flight at walk-up prices. When we build flight-only itineraries, we focus on the practical questions:
- Are your flights on one ticket where possible?
- Is your connection time realistic?
- Will baggage check through to your final destination?
- Do you need to change terminals or clear immigration mid-journey?
In certain scenarios, we can often be more competitively priced than the obvious online options because we can combine airlines using codeshare and partner agreements, rather than forcing everything onto single-airline tickets.
It’s not a promise that we’ll beat every deal you see online. It’s a promise that we’ll check properly, explain the trade-offs, and aim for the best value flight for your trip.
