Gilly Bachelor is a dynamic local speaker with a proven track record of inspiring young people to explore careers in the travel industry. On 12th March, she will be speaking at St Dominic’s School Careers Day, sharing her journey from start-up to building an award-winning, multi-million-pound travel business in just seven years.
Gilly’s talks go beyond the traditional travel agency story. She highlights the wide range of careers across the travel sector, including tour operations, cruise lines, airlines, hotels, destination marketing, partnerships and business ownership. Her sessions equip students with practical insights into the skills, mindset and determination needed to succeed in today’s competitive, global industry.
Supporting and developing young people is a long-term commitment for Gilly. Over the past five years, she has provided numerous work placements for local students, giving them hands-on experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. She has also “hot-housed” students preparing for interviews, helping them build confidence, refine their communication skills, and stand out when applying for apprenticeships or jobs.
Gilly is an experienced speaker in a variety of settings, including the local WI, Civic Society, industry events, and schools and colleges. Her talks are engaging, practical, and tailored to help young people see the breadth of opportunity available to them.
