This Christmas marks the third year we’ve chosen to support the Trussell Trust, making a significant donation to our local food bank instead of sending Christmas cards and gifts to our lovely and loyal clients.

As a local, independent business, our community is at the heart of everything we do. Many of our clients live locally, our team lives locally, and the people supported by our local food bank are our neighbours. Being able to give back close to home feels incredibly important — especially at this time of year.

This donation has only been possible because of our wonderful clients (that’s you!). Your continued support allows us to not only do what we love — creating exceptional holidays — but also to support the community we are proud to be part of. So, this really is a Christmas gift from you.

The Trussell Trust is the UK’s leading anti-poverty charity, supporting a nationwide network of food banks while working directly with local communities to provide emergency food and practical support to people facing crisis. Their work is founded on a simple belief: no one should have to experience hunger.

People typically turn to food banks during times of sudden difficulty — such as loss of income, reduced working hours, illness, caring responsibilities, benefit delays, or unexpected life events. In recent years, rising food, energy, and housing costs mean that more people than ever — including those in work — are finding themselves in need of support.

At Christmas, these pressures are felt even more acutely. Winter brings higher heating bills, increased food costs, school holidays, and the emotional weight of a season that centres around family, warmth, and shared meals. For those already struggling, this can turn a difficult situation into a crisis.

Food banks often see demand rise significantly during the winter months, while donations can slow. That’s why continued support at Christmas is so vital — ensuring local food banks can continue to offer not just food, but dignity, compassion, and reassurance to people when they need it most.
